Default Help! Smells like burnt transmission fluid.

So lately ive been driving and I noticed my car would hesitate to switch gears, its an auto 4l60 by the way 93 bird. I also notice a burnt smell when I would drive or stay at red lights. I checked the dipstick and I noticed it had no oil on the dipstick. Im pretty sure it has nothing. Could I have caused damaged to my transmission? Im scared hopefully it is just low on tranny fluid please help.

Your tranny could've overheated. Not a good situation. I'd get it looked at ASAP.

The burning smell is likely due to a transmission fluid leak seeing as you checked your fluid and it was not showing on the stick. I would recommend repairing the leak, replacing the filter and at the same time determine how much debris is in the bottom of the pan.

Most likely if it has been ran low then it has been damaged. But, nobody can say how bad it is unless they disassembled for inspection.

Ok got it well ima go take her on my day off which is thursday. I hope theres no damage if minimal to the tranny. The tranny does have a leak, I saw today under the car and theres a puddle. I hope its just the oil pan gasket and not the gasket that goes between the engine and tranny or whatever else can it make it leak?

Where should I as well check for leaks when it comes to the transmission?
