Default Mini Kill stock C5 Z06 vs Boss 302

On Friday my girlfriend and I were driving to see friends in Virginia in my almost stock (breathless intake only) 2002 Z06. I was on a wide interstate with very light traffic and up ahead I see a brand new orange Boss 302 Mustang. I pointed it out to my girlfriend and she said the color was nice, but I was thinking about the 440 ish horsepower. After tagging back and forth the guy by himself pulls up on the drivers side and hits it. I was already in 3rd and nailed it once I heard him. He went ahead briefly but after 6 or 7 seconds but he was already behind me, even though he had the jump. I though he might have given me a closer run, but maybe the car was a little tight. Anybody else run into a Boss yet?

Good kill! I really like the new Boss Mustangs (only seen one in person so far though), but I'd have put my money on the Z06 for this race.

I passed you in Winchester on the way home, actually took route 81 north to route 7. My buddy said to stop at a place called Longshots in Charles Town for steamed shrimp, ever been there?

I didn't stop at Longshots, but will probably in the near future as a visit to Harpers Ferry is in the works.

I don't know why people would think this should turn out different. It might be closer from a dig, but from a roll it's Z06 all day. Good kill OP.

Nice kill OP, they aren't slow.

I saw one at the track in 1400 DA. It was very well driven and appeared bone stock, trapping 114 on every pass.

NIce kill.

I think the fastest one I seen yet on stock rubber is 12.2@117. WIth tire swap one went 11.7@12X. Most guys are only running mid 12's though.

It is tied the fastest bone stock 5.0. But the Boss had a better trap speed and a worse 60ft though. They are pretty light. Don't have all the fancy crap in them. Basically a base model GT with upgraded cams/heads/intake/ They make more HP but less TQ. 412/390 VS 444/380. Also the Boss was not met for drag racing like every one wants to do with them. They come with a suspension set up for road courses.

Great run. I've yet to see a Boss 302 in person.

I'd say 6-7 cars is a bit excessive, however, even well driven, the C5Z should still pull a decent amount.

Good kill man.

Not sure have to look. The ZL1 just did 7:41. Better then the Z06/Ford GT/Audi R8.
