So every once in a while my 08 GXP would have the ABS/TRAC/STABIL off codes thrown in the car, I put my Solus scanner on it and it came back with a 'RF Wheel Speed Sensor Malfunction' code.

So naturally I just replaced the hub assembly with and OEM replacement thinking it would solve the issue. Wrong! I cleared the the codes and when I went to back out of our shop it came back on. WFT? I cleared the codes again and went for a drive, it didn't come back on for quite some time, but eventually it did.

It is very intermitent, and usually happens when I just put the car in reverse and back up slowly. It doesn't happen when going forward or over hard bumps or anything.

I am thinking it may be the harness but those stupid things are 75 dollars my cost so I want to be sure before I put one in there.

Has anybody else dealt this issue? I am certain it is throwing the RF Wheel Speed Sensor code so that rules out all the other sensors that could disable ABS/TRAC/STABIL.

Those sensors are extremely voltage sensitive, that's why.

Hmmmm thats interesting. I will throw a new battery in it from our shop and see if that corrects the issue. Is there anything on the DIC that I could watch for to see if the voltage drops?

uh more than likely you wont have a battery on hand for the car. i went with a red top for more power GM stuck way to small of a battery for a v8

I don't know if this matters or not, but last night the ABS/TRAC/STABIL lights came on again, this time I was watching the DIC voltage and it was at 14.26 volts when it happened accelerating from a stop and turning slightly right.

i wish i woulda payed attention more to what the voltage showed when it acted up. but thats exactly what mine was doing and new battery fixed mine and others had same results

I was the harness for the right side, spliced a new one in and the problem is gone.

i know that is very common on older gm's!

Ha ha, but my car is an 08 GXP, unless that is considered an old GM already.

been there, the dealer replaced one of my hub bearings and just went along and replaced all the speed sensors. the bearing would have gone out sometime anyway, replace the speed sensors and you will be perfectly fine

um slightly confused i believe the hub bearing has the speed/ abs/ tpms (older non stem sensor) built into it.
did you mean they replaced the sensor harness?

FYI, replaced the harness today, it has not thrown a code since the install so I am pretty sure that is what was the problem was.

You need the right front wheel speed harness
Gm sell them te harness breaks down in the conduit where the harness flexes around he lower control arm area. Around 50 bucks takes less than a hour to install. Would recc you doing both side as the other side will shortly follow
