Anyone running a two step off their footbrake with a microswitch of some sort? Just looking for consistency until I move it to a button with the transbrake installed. 60's are pretty good right now, just looking for a little more.

I weld a tab for a starter button on the brake pedal towards the outside of the car. When you stage you use that side of the pedal with your foot on the button. We use that on all our NHRA Stock Eliminator car.

You might want to contact Folk Race Cars. They make a brake pressure activated microswitch that is plumbed into your brake lines. When you stage the car, the brake pressure activates the switch and when the pressure drops below a 200 psi window, the 2 step is disactivated. Thats what i did on my car and its a pretty trick setup. But you will have to make a switch with your shifter that turns it off in high gear so you dont go down to the stripe and get on the brakes hard to cut them in and the motor goes on the 2 step.

Obviously this will require you to redo some brake lines and that might be more trouble than its worth.

Madman got a picture of that set-up? Any reason why I couldn't use a self tapping screw and tab to hold it there instead of welding it? Don't have a welder handy.

Formula stocker- That sounds like the cat's meow as far as footbraking on the 2 step goes, but I was kinda just looking for a quick and easy way to do it for now until I put the trans brake in. I've got it right here on the living room floor in the TCI box it came in just waiting for the last track day to be over before I put it in. So this won't be permanent.

BTW the two step I have is a harlan two step studder box, anyone know if it uses 12v or ground to arm and activate it?

Anyone else run a two step to launch off the footbrake with? I guess I need to get this trans out and install this transbrake and hook the two step to it, just tired of playing footsie in the staging beams to get the car at the rpm I want on the converter before I launch. It'd be a lot easier to be able to pull in light both bulbs and be able to put the pedal down however much it takes to get it on the chip and then launch when the lights drop.

I have mine hooked up to the brake light switch itself. The wire runs from the switch on the pedal to an on/off toggle in the console then out to the two step

i use mine on foot brake. I use the cruse control release switch , that's on the brake pedal and its also adjustable for quicker release.

We use 12v that illuminates the brake lights for 2step, 3step on t/b buttom

What he said. I use a brake pressure switch and leave between 3,400 and 4,200 depending where I have my 2-step chipped.

does this make a big difference on the line? I've been looking at doing this, it seems like I can't get the rpms where I want them before the lights start

Bumping this up. I'm considering doing this myself. Its a pain in those quick situations to get on the converter exactly how you want it. It will be much more consistent this way also!

So will it increase my 60 ft by doing this two step I don't wanna waste my money on- two step and it won't increase my foot 60ft times

I have some Drag Racing Rims (Dont know the MFG off hand) but they are a quality three piece rims (two rim halves and spacer in between for the lugs sort of like a draglite or Prostar) that are bolted together.

What I need to know is what sort of torque is used when bolting the rim halves together?

It about how big of a stall converter and how loss it is ,And how well your brakes will hold with out pushing you threw the staging beams. When doing your burnout drive around the water box and not threw it so your front tire dont get wet.And it would help if you had a proportioning valve to adjust a little more brake to the rear to help hold the car at the starting line.
