Your race weight is only about 100 lbs more than me. There is something else going on. Look at my MPH. I would keep looking. There is more. I would also tell your tuner that you suspect you are missing out and see what he says.

Your have much better mph indicating more horsepower. I believe that some of it is the difference between you running a carb and me running fuel injection. It is hard to beat a carb for brute strength.

I did talk to Jim about my tune. He says the car is "tuned correctly". I believe that it is but also tuned conservatively.

I compared our time slips and we are right on 60 foot times and you have me by .1 at the 8th. By the end of the track you have me by .25. You are pulling much stronger than me at the top end.

My converter only flashes to 2800. If I had a 3600 like you I would speculate I would be about another .2 quicker. If I were you, I would be searching for why it is not making MPH. Do you have a dyno graph?

The dyno graph is attached. How did you check converter flash?

At the drag strip is the only place with enough traction. I just mat it from a dead stop and see what it goes up to.

Do you have beehive or double valve springs?

Springs are doubles upgraded from what Trick Flow installs.

Hmmm. The reason I asked is because the dyno graph power curve looks unusual to me. But, I am not a dyno guy. I would suggest thath you post a new thread in the Gen III internal engine section with this graph and ask the dyno gurus to have a look at that graph. Maybe they will have some insight.

I think it looks off because the graph starts at over 4000 rpm. Maybe I should post in the dyno section.

I have a 2002 som z28. I just dynoed 372hp and 340tq on a mustang dyno. The car was running lean above 6000 rpm so my tuner checked the fuel pressure and found it dropping uptop. The tuner stated i needed a fuel pump so he had to set the limitter at 6000 rpm. (even though my hp was still climbing). I decided to run at atco raceway anyway and sure enough i was hitting he rev limiter on my 2-3 shift. 1. because of the 6000 rev limit. and 2. I had a smaller slick then what i tuned my car with. The car still ran 11.8 at 116 and 11.9 at 115. I think my car would have ran in the 11.5 or 11.6 range. I had hoosier slicks on ws6 16 inch rims. No weight reducton besideds the jack being removed.

mods are.
ls6 ported heads
comp 228 232 duration cam
pacesetter headers/pacesetter y pipe/flowmaster exhaust
slp lid/k&n filter
ls6 intake
3600 vig triple disk converter
strange 12 bolt with eaton posi and 410 gears
qa1 rear coilovers
bmr contol arms, adjustable pan hard bar.
spohn front upper and lower a arms
