Default Best size tire- 17 inch rims

What size tires do you guys think look the best on a Trans Am with 17 inch rims? What is the lowest profile you would go and what is the thickest? Right now I have 275/40s on them but looking for more options

Depends on the width of your rim? Tire sizes coincide with the width and height of a rim.

For example on a 275/40/17 tire=
275mm wide, with a side wall that is 40% the height of the width of the tire (so 40% of 275=your sidewall height), for a 17 inch rim.

Various widths will best suite a certain width of rim. With a smaller rim, you can get away with more sidewall and still achieve near-factory entire wheel height.

Stock width? (17"x9")

275/40/17

Which also good on 17"x9.5" wheel.

245/40/17 and 275/40/17 on back, would that make stance look pretty good?

You wont really notice a change in stance with that combo, I just personally dont see a need for anything larger then 245 fronts unless you auto x

I like the same size on all corners. On 17x9.5's, I've used 265, 275 & 285 in a 40 series. The narrower tire was more responsive, the wider was a bit more confortable. They should all be fine on a 17x9.
