P0449 Error Code

P0449 Error Code Guys, my wife's '08 GXP is throwing a code P0449. Any ideas where I should begin in figuring out what the problem is ? I'm not too familar with the components in the emissions system or even where some of it is located but I am hopeful to avoid a trip to the dealership. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance for the help

I had the same error code with my 2006 Impala SS and, after a non-trivial amount of time testing various wires, replacing vent and purge solenoids, checking the gas tank filler neck, etc. I would up taking the car to the dealership.
It took the dealership 4 days to determine the problem which, they assert, magically disappeared during the diagnostic process. Fortunately, they only charged me a $39 diagnostic fee. Unfortunately, they did dork up the plastidip on one of my wheels and they broke the OBDII socket bracket under the steering wheel, but at least I can use my remote starter again..

Part was $29 from local dealer and they had it in stock. I will get the part number for you when I get home tonight. Part is easy to replace by removing drivers rear wheel and then removing the splash shield. Took me 30 mins not including going to pick up the new part.

Sorry to not get back to you last night. I could not find my recipt with the part number but I looked it up. The GM part number is 25932569 and it looks like this:
However, it looks like it is different for the 2007-2008. The GM part number for you is 25932568
and yours looks like this it may be more expensive as it comes with the bracket and hose piece for some reason?
Looks like yours is slightly different but all I know is that I replaced this part on my 2006 GXP and cleared the code and it has not been back.

I cleared the code using my Predator. Not sure if it will clear itself but you could always just disconnect the battery for like 20 mins or find a friend with a scanner.

I just bought an 06 GXP (LOVE IT!!!) and it has the SES light on for this code too. Seems to be pretty common I take it... But a fairly inexpensive and easily done repair.
