Default How to tell if the Door Lock Actuator Has gone bad?

I believe my drivers side door lock actuator is dying. I lock the doors with the remote, passenger side is locked, drivers is open. When I took the door panel off I noticed when I would lock/unlock the car that the aluminum rod coming from the actuator to the latch (black/red) is not pushing all the way to the unlock position. I believe it did make 2 dings when i would lock or unlock the doors as well but don't remember.Maybe by replacing the actuator this will fix the problem?

Find a schematic, unplug the connector and put a test light between the power and ground. Press the lock and unlock and make sure you get a light. If you do, you need a door lock actuator. Sounds like thats the problem, does it lock manually like with the key and lever from in the car? If so than I'd bet its the actuator unless you have a broken/shorted wire.
