Default Fairmont 2.0 (forged lq4, s480, 800whp, under new management)

figured i would update the first post so most people dont have to read so far into this

** 1982 4 door fairmont now, with a 5.3 and a 4l80e and ls9 cam, a 243 corvette head and a 799 09 truck head, PRC dual springs, LS1 head gaskets, ARP studs, XT80mm turbo, intercooled on pumpgas and methanol, making 711rwhp. cars best time is a 9.95 @ 141mph driven to the track and raced as i drove it, just lowered the tire pressure on the 255x60x15 radials.

i actually bought this off a LS1 tech member.
here is the pic from the for sale add

4.8 we pulled for 80 dollars.

zr1 cam
ls2 trailblazer cam gear

picked up a 400 and converter off craigslist for 500 dollars

yanked the old one

cam install

you all know what these are...

well i had so many busted ones on this motor i had to drill out 4, and ******* A one of them got destroyed and fucked and i was pissed and drilled the head forever and i had a hole i could put my thumb into lol...

i ended up throwing on a spare cyl head i had from a friends corvette that dropped a valve...

made engine mounts

tried on teh truck intake, decided i didnt want to cut the hood i would get a ls1 intake or something to fit

241 ls1 head, used head gasket.

pac springs

test fitting a ls6 intake

bought a 91 cobra rear. installed 2.73s and welded the spiders

built a mount for the th400

4wd chevy truck 4l80e yolk, explorer *** end piece. measured for a driveshaft to be made

swapped in the rear

got my turbo and wastegate

quarter stick

ebay rails, parker fittings, because the truck rails were too high

oil feed

intercooler

started wiring her up

80lbers for me and my friend, and some reducing bends.

driveshaft is done

pulled another 80 dollar 5.3 for a spare

getting there

summit 130 dollar universal rad, my friend made a dual pass and moved the outlet

alive!

14lbs pumpgas 12deg timing, 11.0 afr

562rwhp spinning 18.7lbs, 12deg, methanol, 11.2 afr.

putting on some 27 inch slicks from a friend and rolling her to the track.

Budget builds make me wonder why the hell I spend money on my car. Would be fun to have no stress about the junkyard motor or car...... Now go and hurt some feelings with that thing.

Nice work, brings back memories.

Not of pulling the motor is the snow, that's HardCore dedication.
But of the our old 5.3 turbo Fairmont. Best part was racing the fast looking cars at the track and just killing them.

Next you will need an interior roll bar, and a rear Anti-roll bar.

keep the vids coming.

MSD/Megasquirt FTW!!!!

i have 2 friends with fox cages they never installed, and i have a football in the rear spring to help with the launches im gunna try, i am not opposed to doing a complete team Z rear setup though to make it fly

and yes, the MSD and MS1 combination simply cannot be beat.

i have 80lb injectors in this and it fires and idles like a dream, this is actually my third lsx swap turbo ms1/msd car running 80lb injectors.

i dusted the bottom of the IC black and installed a left over dynojet wideband commander in the gauge cluster today, and tied it into the ECU for closed loop.

going to try and race it this sunday and sneak through tech.

Football in the right rear spring, I love it.

low buck style.

That anti rollbar made a huge impact on our launchs, and when you get this car to sixty, you will be killing em.

does the t400 have a Transbrake?
