you can see if Cam is still building the Ford 8.8 rear ends...he's in richmond hill, so not too far of a drive for you...he built me a stout 8.8 and the price is pretty damn good.

one of the canadian members on here has made several ford 8.8 rear ends and does a solid job, and they are very stout...I believe there are a number of guys running them in the 9's if I am not mistaken. He has a shop (but I don't know the name) but I believe these are built on the side by him.

Rear end bolts in exactly like the stock piece, including the Tq arm. Uses ford 9" bearings to hold the axles in place as well. Like I said...solid piece. (disregard the rust on my car, my sloppy brake line job, and my zip ties lol)...the thing swapped in so easy and quick and flawless you'll second guess yourself if you just accidently tossed your 10 bolt back in )

I think I was about $1500-1600 or so said and done...but my setup is with 31 spline Moser axles. Im not sure if you might want to go to a 33 or 35 spline setup depending on the power level you want to go with...you're best talking to Cam to find out what best suits your needs/power level. The 31 spline setup runs much cheaper (I think) as I picked up a trak-loc posi from an explorer with 31 spline axles, and it came with 4.10 gears...picked up the package for something like $150-200...axles at the time ran I believe $330-$350 with the bearings I believe. Then you just have the cost of the rear end.

Plus you guys have factory disc brakes, so you can re-use your brake brackets (something I had to buy extra)

Plus, if you haven't grenaded your rear end prior to this like I did, you can sell most of the 10bolt stuff and make a few hundred back.

I've got a 9" that i built for my s10 project a few years back, has brand new moser 35 spline axles and spool. i built a torque arm set up from chromoly tubing and had everything powder coated. let me know if you want me to send pics.
still needs centre section with 3.250" bearings for 35 spline axles. good start though will handle at least 650hp and manual transmission
thanks

Im having Cam build me a 8.8 aswell... found a bitchin deal on kijiji for a set of 4.10s, TA Diff Girdle, 31 Spline Explorer Posi, Posi and Gear Rebuild Kits, etc. Only thing ill have to order once its all done is some Moser 31 spline axles and throw it together and bolt it in the car.

Does the 8.8 need to be shortened to work in an 4th gen.

The 8.8 utilizes stock 10 bolt axles and im sure it can for whatever length you want. Most stay stock 4th gen width.

I'd like to stay stock length. I was asking because I have no clue what it takes to make a 8.8 work on a 4th gen. So can I transfer all the suspension mounts and brakes from the 10 bolt to the 8.8 ?
I really dont not much about rearends. But I know someone that thinks they can build one for me as long as we don't need to shorten or lengthen the housing.

Nah man he'll make them stock length thats what im having done. All your stock brakes etc will work and it will be a bolt in application. Im not sure when hes going to start building but i havent heard back from him yet on any updates. Im in no rush right now but id like to have it in the car some point this year to go to the track and make a fullout pass.

ya he welds everything up for you to fit the camaro...I think he has a jig and all so everything is perfect. You don't need to do anything other than get your gears/posi unit...install and set them up, then swap the rear end in.

He'll contact his rep at moser and setup your order, than you call moser and finalize it and pay for it...atleast thats what I did.

FYI...anyone who gets the sealed bearings...GET the inner seals from moser as well. Moser told me I didnt need the inner seals because there bearings are self contained units and have an outer o-ring to them. My one and only issue was these bearings...3 times they leaked right through the middle portion. Moser told me it was my fault (tried to tell me something wasn't aligned as it would leak almost the next day ...the third time they sent the bearings (and I paid ) I had them send me the 3$ seals...haven't had a problem since *knock on wood*...and Ive driven over 15k easy with the rear end done. So word of advice...spend 6$ and save yourself a headache and a mess all over your rims.
