Default S60 installed!!!! Thanks Carl @ CRP

I purchased a Strange S60 from Carl at CRP and installed it about a month ago. Finally got it broke in and its amazing! The installation was a piece of cake and everything installed with no problems. I ended up going with 3.73,detroit locker, chromemoly pinon, lca relo brackets, stock width, and powder coated black. The quality is top notch and i'd recommend the rear to anyone. I haven't been able to get it to the track yet to see if times changed much but so far it seems just as powerful. The rear feels extremely solid and there is not one bit of gear whine. If your needing a rear, you should definitely give Carl a call.

Thanks Carl!!!

He told me the same thing, but i asked him to call and check and they had just started offering it again. I actually ordered it to be powder coated red and it showed up black (they only offer black, had a little miscommunication with strange) but in the long run im glad its black and it was worth the little bit extra it cost.

Only bad thing can say about the process is with Strange, they offered to fix the error on powder coating and said he get back in touch with me and never did. So im still waiting for the call!

I added almost every option i could (3 channel, chromemoly pinion, chromemoly driveshaft, powder coating, lca brackets, detroit locker($70 more) and it was around 3300 shipped. Alot of cash to shell out but was worth every dime when you don't have to worry about the 10 bolt.

I think you'll be very satisfied once you get it and you won't find better customer service! Let us know how it goes once you get it

What setup are you looking at getting? Gears? Locker? etc
You'll be impressed with the quality and ease of install.

I spoke with Carl today, very nice guy. How hard was the install and did you use the stock torque arm? Was it a direct fit? What drive shaft did you go with? I will see if i have anymore quesitons.

You can see in the picture he doesn't have the stock TQ arm, but you can re-use the stock one until you get an aftermarket one.

Hell yeah go RP.

If you reuse the stock the TQ arm you may or may not have to notch it I honestly can't remember.

He's a awesome guy to deal with!!! Install was really easy, just like putting a 10 bolt in. Yes it was a direct fit, only mod i had to do was cut a brake bracket i believe to fit on the LCA relo brackets. I ended up going with the strange chromemoly drive shaft.

Thanks,

I just ordered mine today.

Can you explain more about the brake bracket? Do you have any pics on what you had to do?

Carl also gave me a good place to purchase the parking brake lever boots since mine was ripped.

It was a bracket that bolted to the LCA relo bracket i believe, you just have to clip one side off. I pulled up a write up on here before i did it, ill look for it and try to get a few pics

This Is what Carl suggested I go with as my car is my DD and maybe makes 20 1/4 mile passes a year. 35-spline S-Trac, 35-spline Strange Street/Strip axles with 3.150" bearings, 1/2" or M12 wheel studs (IDK what one to go with), 1350 pinion Yoke, and 4.10 gears, BMR LCA Relocation brackets and ill also be ordering the Strange Chrome-moly drive-shaft.

Sounds like a pretty solid setup, i strayed away from the s-trac because i wanted to spray a 150 out of the hole and im around 550rwhp on spray. He said that the s-trac was good for about 600rwhp. I think i gotta pic out of 5/8" studs or the m12 which are stock i believe.

Ill have to talk to Carl some more as I am around 600 on spray and will be spraying out of the hole as well and eventually I plan on doing a 408 with nitrous so i want something that will be able to handle the power, I just do not want a spool as its my DD.

I went with the detroit locker option ( 70 bucks more ) and he sad it should handle everything i can throw at it. So far its solid and very street friendly, only time i ever notice it is when i back up. Sometimes you hear the tires slip a bit when backing but thats it.
