Default Air filter replacement

Its time for me to replace my stock air filter. I really didnt think I would have the car this long so i have kept it all stock. Any suggestions on a decent air filter or if anyone has a K+n panel filter they want to sell cheap I would open to hearing about that also. Thanks-John

If the car is and plans to remain stock just throw a fram or delco in it and be done

I have a stock imp SS and put a panel K&N filter in it. Sounds a little bit better. The only benefit is the recycle-bility of the k+n filter. I didnt notice any performance changes.
In hindsight, worth the $45 but dont get it if you think its going to turn it into a fire breathing machine

I have the K+ N and I like it. It is worth being able to clean and use again.

Obtain silicone copulers from ebay

Obtain 20 dollar AEM dryflow filter from ebay

Spend couple hours fabbing intake

Screw k&n...

Or just slap a walmart fram in it and be done as mentioned. No need for the mods if you have no intention of really opening your wallet.

I had a K&N, had MAF oiling issues - waste of money on these cars. Switched back to paper, no performance loss.

You are are better off with paper and removing the horn in front of the airbox.

I switched from a K&N back to dry air filter. I am using a amsoil filter in my SLP CAI for my 99 grand prix. No need to hassle with the cleaning, drying and reoiling of an oiled filter.

Interestingly mine was factory oiled. Cleaning the MAF's since the '02 Camaro SS.
