First Low 11 Second Camaro ZL1
Then it could lift the front tires like this guy

*UPDATE TWO: The times quoted in the press release – 11.93 for the auto and 11.96 for the manual – were recorded on the stock Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 tires. According to Chevrolet, the team knocked about a tenth of a second off those numbers with the Mickey Thompson drag tires.
I have almost no doubts that the 2013 GT500 would beat the C6 Z06 and possibly even the C6 ZR1 in a straight line if it weighed under 3500 pounds
....it might even run right with the quickest bone stock C6 Z06's best pass (10.9@128+mph) as it is (at 3850 pounds).

Bone stock (other than the drag radials of course) C6 ZR1.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the actual track tests of the 2013 GT500, both in magazines and in private hands at the drag strip.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
A good strong block and strong internals gives Ford the edge I agree. However don't expect GM to stand and watch. Something already in the works. Honestly if they duplicate the LQ4 motor with more bolts per cylinder and forged internals they can boost the motor to high heaven. But you still have to make it handle the high revs up and down of road racing so it doesn't shake itself apart.
Love the Ford/GM wars. Always makes for some faster cars. From a looks standpoint I could never buy the Mustang. Just too damned ugly looking. Wheel sizing also make it look goofy.

the guys with the "if the camaro weighed less" argument are constantly whining about it. constantly.....worse than a gaggle of middle aged women going through pms.
chevy will fire back. hopefully they do it quick, 'cause this is more than likely all come to an end fairly soon, thanks to the govt, and their regulations.

Another note worth consideration... It simply doesn't look like the performance gained with the Lingenfelter hands is worth the hefty price... 9 grand plus (after taxes) for 516rwhp / 460rwtq on a 5th gen LS3... Not impressing me even a little bit, considering where the thing started.
