You need pretty much a full drag setup to pull the tires 6feet. its all about hooking up and weight reduction, ie, rapid motorsports video on their homepage of the red T/A

And 99% of the time ppl pull the wheels off the ground more than a few inches, they dont mean to, it hurts your E.T. and it can be very costly. if you come down to hard you can smash the oil pan and lose all your oil, and bye bye engine.

yep, wheelies looks cool but are wasted motion unless it is moving the car forward as well as up. Most try and set-up for the line between big wheelie and hooking to move the car downtrack. Drag-style shocks and as previously mentioned set-up suspension can make a 12 second car pull the wheels, but you have to have everything right! The more hp/torque you make, the easier it is

I've been told that my 4200# bolt-ons LT1 powered 96 impala SS has yanked the left front tire a few times. It's not making much power (the motor is stock from the throttle body to the exhaust manifolds) but with the mods that I've done, it gets plenty of torque to the ground. 3200 Vigilante converter, 4.10 gears, strong posi, sticky tires and track, no swaybars, QA1 shocks, etc. The best I've dyno'd was 255hp/320tq to the wheels.

im guessing my car is making somewhere in the high 400 range, mine pulls the front left up about 6 inches when it hooks (TTII 17x9.5 w/275/40/17)

6 feet is quite the accomplishment. But seriously...I've pulled the wheels cutting the lawn with a John Deere. Reverse, slam it to forward and HOLD THE HELL ON! All about weight transfer.

I tried but my 17HP 42" cut Murray would not do it. I am thinking about some weight reduction on the front end....Maybe a light weight K-member and some skinnies!

my car made 388hp(tuned down for nos use) on amustang dyno and i pull the tires about 5in off the ground(stock ws6 tires,not front runners)

I have a 72" liquid cooled 22 HP mower, and that thing will almost flip you over. It pulls the wheels from a dead stop without reverse to foward.

I have just a little over 400hp in my 69 Camaro and when I put the 10.5" slicks on my car I was shocked when my friends said i pulled both front tires off the ground about 2". If it wasnt for the camcorder I would have never believed it. That was when it was set up for drag racing. Now it is set up more for Pro-Touring so a wheelie now would be a lot harder since I dropped the car close to 4" lower that it was.

I would be sweeping up transmission and rear end pieces if I got my car to hook up enough to pull the front tires. It will happen one day.

After my 4th or 5th hard launch with the slicks I blew out the 4 speed Borg Warner. That was just inspiration to install the 6 Speed T-56.
