Default Tick rebuilt T56

What is the benefit of sending my transmission off to tick to be redone? I only need the stage 1 rebuild i believe. Why would it be better to send off for almost a month, than to take it to the local xmission shop?

Thanks

Exactly. I have never seen a complaint from their tranny rebuilds! They will get my business when I get around to pulling the tranny in my car.

other than that, they dont use diffrent processes or parts than another shop might use?
Im sure they will do a great job, but if it's the same as the local shop, which also has a great reputation, Ill go for the quick turn around.

Although that cryogenic thing sounds very interesting. Im all about longevity in a high abuse part.

There's a tick stage 3 transmission with adjustable master and speed bleeder for sale in the classifieds section. Has lots of extras with it.

Because they specialize in building performance t56 transmissions plus Im sure they use quality replacement parts. Your local shop is more of a "do all the same" basic trans rebuild.

Not saying your local shop cant get it done but why roll the dice? Id rather have it dont right the first time.

Same reason I went to RPM Transmissions for my T56. Experience! Just because a shop works on transmissions, doesnt mean they can efficiently build a strong T56. I called several local shops around me, before I called RPM, and most of them had no idea there were even parts that needed upgrades.

RPM specializes in all levels of the T56/TR6060/Magnum, 4L60e, 4L80e, and they build some of the nastiest auto conversions out there for Vettes.

Ive been running a loaded (completely Viper spec, cryo'd, micropolished, etc) Level V from RPM for over 6 years, and probably 60k miles. Daily driven, and abused, and never a hiccup!

Our turnaround time for a level one rebuild should be way less than a month. We have everything on the shelf for practically all t56 rebuilds (with exception of the occasional back-ordered item). A level one rebuild should be turned around in a couple of days.

We have two transmission builders now to eliminate lengthy turnaround time. Myself, who built literally every transmission Tick ever built before May of this year (well over 1,000 t56's) and our new guy Josh who trained by my side for a full month. Since, he has built over 40 t56's with zero failures/warranty claims.

Josh's prior resume before joining Tick included various jobs with Nascar teams. He left Joe Denette (formerly Kevin Harvin Motorsports) to join our crew. His attention to detail is outstanding and hes a master welder/fabricator to boot.

We'd love to have your business at Tick!

Josh brings a TON of great experience to our table and we're very lucky to have him here that's for sure.

Never let an aamco or any other average joe work on it. I had my camaro at a aamco (one with the best reputation 2 hours away) work on my car. They ended up pulling the trans 7 times. The case was split 6 times and on that 7th try I had enough I took both of mine to tick (had another one stick in 4th) and haven't had a problem out of either. Also the same tranny was suppose to have been rebuilt when I got it. Definately take it to Tick and never look back.

This shop built the hardest shifting 700 r4 on the planet for me many years ago. They are GREAT with an auto. I dont know about a manual. But for 2 grand, even if they pull it and put it back, Its not worth it.
