Water Pump Question
Water pump went out today on my 04 V. Seems that the bearing inside the pump gave out and leaks from the center.Does anyone know a good site or place I can order from, if local I'm in Long Beach, Ca.? Thank you

ACDelco 251-689 or GM 89017592 is the part listed for 2004-2005 CTS-V's. I'm not local to your area, but the following can be found online:
$248 at GMPartsDirect with ridiculous shipping - http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=89017592
$248 with shipping at GM Parts Giant - http://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts/gm...-89017592.html
$235 on Ebay --> http://www.ebay.com/itm/04-05-Cadill...-/330520916470

yeah...200$ plus for a water pump!? F*$k that noise. My 05's went and I paid 165$ for a new one. Cannot remember where I got it.....but I remember the pump in my C5 being about the same. Call me crazy but 200+ $ for a pump that essentially is the same one that came on many GM vehicles.....whole lotta BS IMO.

And to add to my confusion, RockAuto.com shows 4 different ACDelco pumps when I look at the 2004 Corvette. (Their catalog only lists 1 engine, the 5.7L V8, so it doesn't differentiate between Z06 and normal Vettes.) They show the 252-846 that BudRacing mentioned (correlates to GM #19195105, has cast iron impeller, $100); 252-781 (correlates to GM #88926295, also has cast iron impeller, $133); 251-744 (correlates to GM #19256263, says "OE design, stamped steel impeller", $174); and 251-722 (stamped steel impeller, $244). Weird. Based on what I've seen with other pumps (in the SBF world), cast iron impellers are better than stamped steel, so it's interesting that the presumably better pumps are cheaper. gmpartsdirect.com says the 88926296 part has been superceded by 19195105, so that at least partially explains the two different cast iron impeller part numbers.
What do you mean by the pulley being "much narrower on the V"? Do mean the V's pulley is a smaller diameter? Or that the V's pulley is actually more narrow (less area for the belt to ride on)?
