Default Hoses from water pump

Ok guys. 1995 Formula LT1 M6. I bought the car from a buddy of mine. He had the car for 17 years. He replaced the water pump at some point. I was under the car doing some other work and noticed 2 hoses coming out of the bottom of the water pump. The one on the driver side comes down to the radiator. Not sure where the other one goes but it turns upward. They look pretty shabby. They have hose clamps on them. The one on the driver side is seeping a bit. Where can I get these hoses? Part numbers? Names?

I would look at a full kit. I am sure you have more options than I did on my Caprice but I used the Goodyear HiMiler kit and other than being an ugly bright blue I am really happy and they replaced every coolant hose. On the b-bodies there are a couple hard plastic pieces a flow restrictor to the heater core and a t-connector for the surge tank look at what you have and go ahead and replace that stuff too.

You can always take them into a parts store and match them. Any parts store should at least have the main upper and lower hoses pre-bent.

That second hose you speak of should go to the heater core IIRC. The red arrows pictured here? http://shbox.com/1/heater_hoses.jpg sounds like what you're describing.

I also believe you hit one of the factory metal crimps if you follow the hose to replace it. Just make sure both ends have a simple hose clamp, if not you have to cut the crimp. I'm not positive on that one though.

Take if off and just go match it at a parts store like SS suggested.

OP depending on what your coolant and rest of the cooling system look like condition wise, this isn't a bad idea at all.

The hose on the bottom going to the pass side goes to the heater core as in the diagram linked above. The one going to the radiator I had to get at NAPA. Sorry I don't remember the name of the hose but you need to get that specific hose. It isn't a common size (metric I think) and the ends are different sizes. It will leak if you get regular heater hoses for it.

My take on this is that if some of the hoses are potentially original they are going to be near failing anyway. Why dump coolant 3 times to do the hoses piecemeal?

Plus when I bought the kit price for hoses was pretty reasonable compared to purechasing one at a time.

Yeah I'm definately gonna replace them all. I was just looking at the kits. They are available in black but summit only has the blue. Blue is actually my favorite color but not under the hood on a green car. Yuk!! Anyhow I'm looking around for a supplier with the black ones.

I just did the blue Goodyear kit from Summit. I checked at Napa and two of those pre-bent heater hoses were $29.99 EACH. To buy all the hoses I needed at Napa would've cost $30.00 more than the Goodyear kit.
