where do i put my mechanical oil pressure guage and water temp??

can put a tee in the block before the stock oil sender. it will let you use both gauges. water temp goes in the side of either head.

im sorry i should have been more specific.. carbed 5.3 in a foxbody

would be the same place as the 5.7L as the 5.3L is a truck motor.

oh ok i understand what your saying now.. is there anyway i can remove the stock sender completely and just run the line directly to where the sender used to be?

sure can as long as you have the correct fitting. I just like to keep the stock gauge working.also the stock sender/gauge may be use to cut power to the fuel pump if the motor lost oil pressure,but not 100% sure.

my harness dont have a plug for the oil sender so i gotta do it this way i guess.. thanks man

on the LS1 5.7 motor there is a port above the oil filter that can be tapped into for oil pressure

The port above the oil filter, tap it for 1/8 NPT. This is where my turbo oil feed is, but also works for a pressure sensor

Save your self the trouble. Use the existing tapped ports. Auto-meter sells adapter fittings.

Autometer sell an adapter piece that goes from the stock oil sender at rear of intake and adapts it to the standard fitting size to run a mechanical oil gauge.

ok cool thanks guys! what about my water temp sensor? the fittin on the sensor is too big for the holes in the head

Same thing....Auto-meter sells an adapter for the water temp hole in the head too.

I suggest staying away from mechanical gauges. They make such a mess if the lines ever get kinked/melted/broken

Autozone sells a copper line kit 4 like $10 4 mechanical oil pressure gauge ,,,,it includes 2 or 3 brass adapters such as 1/8 npt ,,,,,,,,I would just drill and tap the adaptor above the oil filter ,,,,,,,it's the most accurate location that tells You the pressure going to the mains and rod bearings and leave the other 1 as well .
