Road Racing twin turbo 5.3 cam and turbo selection...
I've been reading threads here and in the internal engine forums and find that most of the topics are geared toward drag racing or street use. With that said, I have a dilemma...I am struggling to decide on a "best bang for buck" cam and turbo combo for my grassroots road racer.
My current setup:
Stock LM7 internals and heads
Arp rod and head bolts
Ported LS6 oil pump
Camaro acc and ls1 intake
60# Motron injectors
Z06 camshaft
Comp 105 springs
Fresh build T56
LS7 clutch/flywheel pkg
The thing is, the car doesn't operate below 3000 unless its exiting the pits for the warmup or cool down lap. It also won't see much time above 6500 either for reliability.
The car is a tube chassis car weighing no less than 2800lbs, 4.30 rear gears and 25" tall tire. Low end grunt, if not ideal, will be over come by gearing and short tires.
So......
Keeping it to 8 lbs, will the z06 cam be sufficient for my application or fall flat on its face higher up in rpms? If not great, what do you suggest?
are twin gt35's too big to spool by 3000-3500rpm? Again, what do you suggest?
Any help is appreciated!

Twin GT35s should spool pretty much instantaneously too since they are even smaller than those 6262s, and I think there might be some decent Chinese options available in so-called "GT35s" that will probably be journal bearing CHRAs and may have slightly smaller wheels than genuine GT35s.
Maybe a couple of these:

Twin Borg Warner S256 would be my choice if designing a twin set up for road race. You should be at full power by 3500 rpms and capable of 1000+ hp. Quicker to spool than the gt35 and makes almost as much power. Add to that they are reasonably priced at a little over $600 without the necessity of running water lines like the. Gt35r.
