Default Iron 347 street machine!!

Hey all, this is my first turbo build and I've come a long way from bolt on's lol

My plans are - iron 347, jakes 4l80e, "Dusty" spec PTC billet converter, moser 9'' spool, garrett 76mm turbo kit purchased from "ws6hummer" a year and a half ago, dual walbro's with a -8an feed, -6an return line....

Compared to what most people are doing here, this one seems plain and boring lol, but gotta start somewhere.. I wanted something I could beat on the street, and since I had the rotating assembly from a prior build I decided to just bore out a 5.3 block and drop my stuff in it.

Iron 2003 LM7 block bored to 5.7, stock 04 Ls6 crank, Eagle H-beam rods w/ARP 2000 rod bolts, Diamond -2cc pistons, Total Seal AP ring set, ARP head/main studs

Heads are 317's that were cleaned up with a valve job, resurfaced, and Brian tooley .660 platinum springs and New Stainless Steel 1 piece valves installed and all work done by West Coast Cylinder Heads in Reseda, CA.

New ls6 valley cover installed with brand new knock sensors and harness

Ls9 head gaskets

[/CENTER]

I went with Lingenfelter steel heavy duty rocker stands with CHE bushed Ls rockers with ARP rocker bolt's, I know its way overkill for this but oh well I'll just reuse them on my next engine lol

Car is a 1998 Camaro SS and will be backed by a 4l80 built by Jakes performance which is being rebuilt due to a cracked case

more to come soon

Looks good man. Iron 347 and a Jakes 4l80 isn't a bad combo for good times.

Thanks, it's a 76mm garrett turbo (.96 ar)

The turbo came with the kit, the previous owner didn't have the full info on the turbo either..

This has been 1 1/2 years in the making, I was bartending when I started this build but lost my job in December 2011, so now my pace has slowed down a lot lmao...

Default update!

Got the pushrods in! and got to work on installing them along with the rockers, valve covers, and RTV'ing the knock sensor harness.... once it's dried Ill start on the intake/TB etc..

I'm picking my Moser 9'' up soon, Its being built with 3.50 gears, spool, and I had it drilled for 5/8'' wheel studs after hearing some people sheared off the 1/2'' ones.... better to be safe than sorry

Here it is before when I bought it used with a broken detroit locker for $1,500!

Now all fixed up!

I just want it be a nasty street car, I dont mind tire screeching with a spool

After,

I'm In a small dilemma, I can start puttin the engine back on the k member and hooking everything together except I didn't like the idea of breaking a new engine in while tuning on a 3 bar SD tune at the same time..?

So I was contemplating putting it on an engine dyno to break it in, then install it and head over for a tune..

How else would you break an engine in while needing a new tune at the same time..

Default small update

I got a little done last night, still waiting on parts though!

I finished mounting the intake/TB, Flex plate, oil filter, front coolant crossover.... I've seem to have misplaced my rear ls6 crossover so if anyone has one, hook a brotha up?

My Nasty fuel rails are in the mail, All I need are injectors, boost referenced fuel pressure regulator, ATI super damper, and a Y-block to dual feed the fuel rails... that should wrap up my engine and fuel system.. for now

Its starting to look like an engine again

I'm taking my time with this build, still trying to figure out if I want to purchase HP tuners and take a stab at tuning it myself vs getting it tuned by someone..

decisions decisions!!
