LS3 vs Gen V LT1 horsepower and torque graphs Hey guys,
GM published this comparison graph of the LS3 and Gen V LT1 a while back (engine dyno data).
You can see better torque across the board and more high rpm power.

This isn't horsepower and lb/ft. This is kilowatts and newton meters. They don't necessarily cross at 5252. I've overlooked that before myself.

It's all marketing...GM is not going to tell you the LS3 is a better engine. From what I can tell, the LT1 is nothing more than a direct injection LS engine. I hate how they keep comparing it to the 427...If it was making the same power with less cubes, that would get my attention.

The HP and Tq scales could be different, so it might not reflect the cross at the exact location.

just your assumptions are.. well.. wrong. heads, intake, cam.. all different from the LS3. the block itself is very different even if more in an evolutionary sense. the LT1s comparison to the LS7 is the same as sbc's being compared to bbc's when they make similar torque, etc. but please, tell us all with your knowledge of how the LS3 is 'better'. sounds more like you think the LS series is better simply because you know wht it can do.
