I beleive LQ9 have a bigger combustion chamber. ls6s have a smaller combustion chamber. 71cc compared to 63.5cc or something like that but dont quote me on that. so depends on what compression you want to go with.

you'll gain .8 compression over the LQ4/LQ9 heads with the 64.45cc Ls6 heads
thats if your got the LQ9 engine with the 345hp with the flat top pistons
looking at 10.8 with ls6 at 64.4cc
and 10.0 with stock heads LQ9/LQ4 at 71.0cc
also 10.5 with LS1 heads at 66.67cc

the LQ and LS6 heads are the same except for chamber size
LS1 have smaller port volume size as well as differnet chamber size

LS6/LQ in210cc/exh75cc
LS1 in200cc/exh70

I hope i got all that right.

My Bad I forgot we were talking about the 402CI ZL from SLP . yaeh i dont know the piston from deck height to figure out the compression on the motor, b/c of the none stock setup. i know you can get the 11.3 and the 9.5 engines but with what heads that make those compression number i dont know

Hey MeanWS6, it seems that you will be the first to go with the SLP 402. Keep us posted with the progress/results. After what I have read here, it looks like a good package for 3600.

Yea, probably. I just want to make sure I have everything sorted out before I pull the trigger on it. I am also doing a TH400 swap, and of course more spray. It would be nice to put a 'vert in the low 10's or high nines.
Speed Inc will be doing all of the work, I will see what they have to say also and let everyone know.

I know SLP used the Stage III LS6 heads and a huge cam on the dyno

I'm installing the SLP 402 with AFRs next week. SLP claims 11.3 to 1 with 63.5cc. I've got the AFRs milled for 60cc.

part number: 12572035

I found two casting numbers, casting number should be either 317 or 035 (02 and up LQ9 6.0 aluminum heads)

Specs:

LQ9
01+ 6.0L Truck
Material: Aluminum
Combustion Chamber Volume: 71.06cc
Intake Port Volume: 210cc
Exhaust Port Volume: 75cc
Intake Valve Diameter: 2.00 inches
Exhaust Valve Diameter: 1.55 inches

Shaun @ SMC has these heads at a good price (so they said in the forums)
ValveGod@aol.com

If any other sponsors have them, PM with pricing
