Topics that have not been replied to for a certain amount of time will disappear. You can pull them back up by going to the display options at the bottom of the forum page. I'm sure The Hack will return at some point in time like nothing happened.

Picked up my tow vehicle this weekend from from my brother in CT
Was going to start to wire up the 7 pin harness and noticed something
Thats a hole in the frame, right above where the trailer hitch mounts to the frame. The truck has basically sat for the past 4 years neglected, and I guess the combination of driving on the beach in NC and harsh new england winters have taken its toll. Fixing this will require removing the bumper, gas tank, and hitch and finding someone with a 220V welder, or shelling out cash I dont have to have someone else fix it.
Starting to debate just driving my car out there, but Im nervous I wont make it home. But with my wedding and honeymoon just 9 days away, I dont know if Ill be able to get all this done.

Damn, I hope you can find the time to get it fixed we need to see that car at the shootout. FWIW it doesn't look to bad.

Yea my brother towed our boat a couple times this summer, but thats only a 30 minute ride and its only 4500lbs. Putting 6000lbs on that frame and going 750 miles away from home has me nervous. Im still aiming to come, and am still looking for springs and rockers to complete my boltons list.

look at the bright side. at least you found out now instead of when your trailer passes you going down the road.
have you looked in the scrap yards for a rear frame section?

Hit another snag with the tahoe yesterday, took it for a ride and the front brakeline blew causing me to lock the rear brakes and skid into an intersection. No crash, and I limped it home. Found that the ziptie that was used to hold the rubber brake line away from the tire broke, and the tire tore the line. Just another setback.
On another note, I put my full interior back in to try to get up to race weight. All thats left is valvesprings and rockers and the car is ready to race.

Cool.. thank you for letting me know. The site I normally spend time on, does not do that.
