Default Fluid level in TH350

I'm running a TH350 and was wondering how the others that are running the same tell if the fluid level is right? The stock stick doesn't seem to be right. Thanks for any help.

The stock stick doesn't seem to be right.
Why?

how the others that are running the same tell if the fluid level is right?
If it foams up and blows out the vent tube or dipstick tube it's got too much fluid.
If it is in good condition and slips, drops out of gear, etc it may be low on fluid.

I don't know what that means but every th350 I've ever used just got an old junkyard dipstick thrown in it and it worked like it did when it rolled off the assembly line.

l make a 400 oil pan with a tube that is straight up inside the trans with a drain plug at the bottom. the top of the tube is at the full level of the trans. you fill the trans until oil runs out the tube. put the plug in the tube and you know the trans is full. jk
