Any more details? What motor mounts & transmission cross-member did you use? What about the fuel tank/pump/reg/filter?

I used Trans Dap motor mounts, stock trans cross member moved back about 2 inches, stock tank with sump, Aeromotive fuel pump, filters and regulator. I used factory electric fans from 2002 Camaro. Driveshaft shortened. I have to think about what else

Nice job, I am thinking of doing the same thing with my 77 camaro. I saw the post that mentioned pacesetter headers. Are they an off the shelf item? Thanks..

Yes #psm-70-2256 you need to weld the collector on an angle to shout it away from the frame . I sent them to a local powder coater

looks very neat and sure performs well....nice to see another 2nd gen ls1 swap. I have more questions on the headers. Are the collectors slip on or did you have to cut them and reweld them facing away from the frame? Besides the collectors, did you have to dent/dimple or bend any of the tubes to clear the crossmember or other parts? Finally do you have anyshots of the headers from underneath the car.....I know I am asking alot but I think this will help me choose btw the Pacesetters and edelbrock victor series headers.

Yeah, me and Schitzo are in the process of retrofitting 2nd gens with LS1's as well.

So far my parts list for the conversion is over $3500 ....it's crazy. That included a new crossmember for $400 which I doubt I'll be using since I have a 700R4 in there already.

I sent you a PM , maybe I could steal a moment of your time when you get a chance. I have a 1978 Camaro I'm putting a 2004 GTO LS1 / 4L60E, in fact last night I was swappin out the oil pan for an Fbody one and realized that the lower pan under the crankshaft doesn't accept the Fbody oil pickup tube without mods. Gotta try and get that back on tonight hopefully.

Did the Trans Dap motor mounts work perfectly or did they need modifications??
Post up a link for those if you can, because the only ones I know of at the moment that I've been told about is Street and Performance. Thanks bud.
Check your PM too. Maybe a pic of the underside of the engine so I can see your headers and how they worked out. So I know what to do....

Also, what radiator do you have there ?? I see an aluminum one that's pretty thick.

The rad is a be cool direct replacment.Cut and weld the collectors i have ball style collectors that a friend made.No dents or dimple or dents or bending was needed on my car.Iwill see if i can get more shots tonight. Car is being prepped for paint. The trans Dap mounts worked perfectly i used the 79 rubber mount instead of the 60 style that came with them.# 969-4592 Jegs and summit sell them.

Thanks for posting the pictures up top. You answered my questions regarding motor mounts. I intend to use the stock camaro mounts, just the way you have, with plates, I'm thinking the S&P plates that move the motor back 1".

Again, thanks for answering all my questions with your pics.

thanks for these great pics you put up. Can you answer a Q or 2. That steam line off the radiator, is that needed or can we just get by with using our old radiator. How did you have your brackets set up for the Alternator and Power steering.
thanks
Rich

That is the stock brackets off a 2002 camaro .The steam line is how GM installs it just with out going through the tb.

Is that a milk jug you're using for coolant overflow? For shame! Such a nice project...

I put a fourth gen coolant tank/battery tray in my 79Z. Cut a hole in the flat part of the fenderwell, it fit perfectly. The filler neck is tucked up under the fender though, but I can still check it easy enough.
