Default LS1 Engine Mounts - Modified Oil Pan?

What motor mounts did you guys use? I purchased a set from Street and Performance for my 72 Chevelle but they tell me I'll have to modify my oil pan as well. Did you modify your oil pans on any vehicle that used to have a Chevy 350? If no, whose mounts did you use or did you build your own? thanks.

I used motor mounts from BRP Hotrods. I still had to have S&P modify my pan. They had to take out much less of the pan than if I had used their motor mounts. I had to modify it to clear the center steering link on my rear steer 67 Camaro.

I made my own engine mounts. Keep in mind that if you dont modify the oil pan, you will probably have to modify the firewall. I used a stock f-body pan, but recessed the firewall by 1/2 inch since I am smoothing it anyways. Better weight transfer!!

I used John B's custom motor mounts and had him modify oil pan. Fit perfectly.

I'm also getting the BRP engine mounts. They fit on the LS1 and bolt right up to the SBC mounts on my subframe. BRP also has a rack/pinion kit that uses any LS1 steering rack/pump and fits on the 67-69 Camaro (might work on other cars, not sure) that will move the steering setup to the front of the subframe instead of the rear like the stock one. This should allow me to use a non-modified LS1 pan.

I tryed to use the S&P mounts but wasn't happy with the way they lined up. I ended up making my own using the stock vette mounts. I also had to switch oil pans. Of course my situation is different than most because of my front differential.

I ran into the same problem with my 55 chevy conversion. Someone told me of a drop centerlink that is made for a 55.
(www.eastcoastchevy.com) I purchased it for $100 dollars and it works perfect. All they did to the center link was weld a brace on the bottom about 2" below the center link and then cut out the center of the link. This gives enough clearance for the oilpan on a 55 chevy and now I don't have to wonder if I screwed up the oiling system on the LS1. I know that all of your cars are different but I am sure the same thing would work.
If I get the chance I will post a picture of the dropped centerlink. I thought about doing this myself but I was worried about lining everything up correctly, but if you weld the brace in before you cut it it is already lined up.

I made my own but if I had it to do over again, I'd find a way to use aftermarket. No oil pan mods.

I used the stock camaro mounts that bolts to the motor, made a u-shaped bottom mount and notched and reboxed about 2" of rear of crossmember. Fits fine with stock oil pan.

Rod, Thanks for the alternative idea! Although a reconfigured oil pan is quite common, I think I'd rather be cutting some other part (ie:crossmember).

I built the motor mounts and transmission crossmember. I also modified the front crossmember to clear the oil pan, headers and AC compressor. Here are a couple of pictures.
