700r4 lockup on a toggle I've ask a couple people, searched a ton, and really have found no information (any that I understand at least). I just need to get this lockup wired in til I can swap in the 4l60e. It might be spring before I get it in so I need lockup for now. I've got the 4 pin connector already. I know purple is the 12v power source. I also have a green wire which everyone calls the "output wire" but I have no idea what to wire it to. Then there's the tan/black wire which I assume goes straight to ground. Does the green wire into an on/off switch to ground? I'm not sure what exactly happens with this bad boy. Thanks guys.

goto v8s10.org and go down to the transmission and driveline section and the first sticky shows how to wire a 700r4 to a toggle .
summit also has a kit for the lock up .

The one schematic I wanted is a broken link. I think I got it though. I just wire the B and D together and put A to a 12v source and then it will lock up in 4th gear? That almost sounds too good to be true.

If it will work without it then I will do that. Seems like I am missing something. But according to what I read, just wire those two together and power the purple one. How would it know when you were in 4th? Mechanical switch?

That's what I want to do but I can't find a diagram for a 3 pin setup!! Everything is 2 pin and that would be cake!!! I need a diagram for a 3 pin!!! Everyone says put it on a toggle but can't offer any info on how to do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That one post on the S10 forum might work ok but it just seems wrong to be wiring two wires together on the same harness (especially one that's not used). Let me copy it so maybe someone can elaborate on it.
On your tranny you will have a 4 prong plug. Only 3 of these connectors are used. They are labelled A-D and are used for the following:
A) +12 input. pink/black wire from 10 amp ign source, through brake pedal interupt switch, then out on a light blue or light green wire to your vac switch, then to your tranny.
B) OUTPUT - goes to ground when tranny is in 4th gear
C) ground - requires ground to complete the lockup circuit.
D) Not used.
IF you want an easy wiring solution for lockup, just take pin's B and D and connect them together, thus providing ground to the lock up circuit only when it is in 4th gear. Then your power comes from your vac switch. One wire solution.
In my case, I wouldn't use the vac switch and instead use an on/off toggle. I just don't see how wiring B and D together would work. Is that a typo? Do they mean wire B and C together? D is an empty pin!

I have tried a couple wiring combinations with the factory style pigtail and can't get the thing to lockup. I've read about the 4th gear lockup switch so it can lock in 4th without a manual switch. Regardless, nothing works. I have tried wiring Pin A (purple) to 12v and then wiring B (green) and C (tan/black) together. No lockup. I have also tried A to 12v and then grounding the other two and it won't lock there either. Any other combinations I can try? This is one diagram someone sent me. The first instance where I wired B and C together is from this diagram.

Hey thanks for those links. I already tried wiring it like the first one but it does show the inside which might be helpful in wiring it (if I wanted to). I might just hold out for my 4l60e swap.
