PCM harness through firewall grommet?
Any ideas? It needs to be fairly large since all of the PCM wires will be running through it.
if you pop the covers off of the PCM connectors, you can measure exactly how big it has to be... (the connectors have to JUST fit thru the hole)
for the grommet, i used a rubber plug, and cut the center out to size.. its alot easier to find large rubber plugs then large grommets.

1.25" is the holesaw needed to mount a clutch master cyl... the harness one was even larger then the clutch hole.
i used a 2 something inch holesaw... i posted exactly what i used, but i cant find it in a search...
my PCM plugs dont fit thru the grommet.. if they did, the grommet wouldnt fit the wires tightly.
instead, i snipped the grommet so it can open up like pac-man, and fit directly on the wires.
this let me get a nice tight seal on it.

Atleast it sounds like the same thing you mentioned. It is a garbage disposal piece. I used some RTV to seal it up and to hold the seal in place. Seems to work great.
Oh and I used the same hole saw that I used for the master cylinder. But instead of trying to pass the wires through one hole, I mad two holes right next to each other...so I made an oval. In my opinion, it allowed the plugs and wires to pass through easier, and seems like I took off less material. I may have take off more...but either way. The garbage disposal gasket worked for that too.
Dont you just love the lowes/home depot type places?!? You can find all sorts of good stuf to use in a manner other than directed. haha.

as for Lowes...better tool selection and prices than most other places I go and i have an easier time finding things there than Home Depot (our Ace hardware stores are really small, so i won't mention them).
Not sure where to get one anywhere else. It was made for firewalls. There is another Good Guys meeting coming up next month.. If I go and find the guys again, I will post information back to you guys..
As far as Lowe's.. I once told to Stealth to think outside the box... when trying to find one off parts or services. It has save me a lot of $$$ by using normal services that are not related to the Automotive world. (Welders, sheetmetal, elec, etc).. I get a lot of part, nuts and bolt from the local ACE hardware. The even cary chrome bolts and nuts, grade 8.
i dont think its cutting corners.. its not like i hogged it out to make it fit. its sealed tighter then a dolphins butt.
