I ordered the Flaming river switch with the rod for my 98TA. Do any of you guys have some pics of your switch mounted and where you brought the rod out? Im assuming that it will come out right under the tail light. Also, I have read some threads where guys were saying that the switch didn't kill power while the car was running...is there any certain instructions I need to go by to wire it up? Thanks in advance

I don't have a F-body but you can either put it through the light or drill out a semi circle on the light were the light and the bumper meet. I have a diagram here somewhere on how to wire the kill switch in... let me find it. -Mark

Found it. This is NHRA legal. Don't mind the motor but you get the gist of it on how to wire it. -Mark

I was just looking at mounting the switch a few minutes ago (it is too dark to try it right now) but I have a question. I still have the studs that the t-top holders were mounted with. Just eyeballing it in the dark ,it looks like I can mount the supplied switch bracket to one of those studs and that will put my t-handle right under the pass tail light...is this correct? I have a 98TA. Has anyone mounted it here before? I have little access to a welder and that is the main reason I am looking for a place I can mount it without welding. Thanks again.

fixed...typing too damn fast!

I was thinking of hooking it up between the terminals to get a little bbq'd rodent between runs, so when the switch gets pushed in, Ill now its done.

got a question guys...when yall do this, instead of worrying about a long battery wire to the front of the car and ahveing to run a large gauge to amke up for the extra resistance added by the switch ect, why dont yall make the cutoff cutoff the ground? and sinply ground it near the back? wouldent ahve to worry about the resistance as much or the alternator running a wire all the way to the back???

I got ripped off, get one of these. I wont say any names but alot of companies on here buy an Afco battery box paint it/powder coat it and charge $80-$100.

I think that it has to kill the engine when you switch it of. I don't thing killing the ground would do that.

Correct. Has to be the positive cable. The wire coming from the alt and positive post must be on the same side on the kill switch. That way when you flip the switch it kills the car otherwise it may still continue to run from the juice in the alt. -Mark
