New to manual, clutch smell after driving.
My friend just got an 02 Z28 M6. He never drove an manual before cept for when his buddy's let him have a try here and there. After he is done driving you can smell the clutch. He isn't racing it or flooring it , just slipping it and doing typical newb things you do when you first drive a manual.
How long will the stock clutch hold out with this kind of punishment? I told him to not drive it around anymore untill I teach him how to properly drive stick, but he cant resist learning on his own ( stubborn ).

LS1 cars have so much torque, that there is just no excuse for slipping the clutch til it stinks. Even with my alum flywheel, I can slowly let out the clutch and move without the gas.
Gotta get in there with him and show him he doesnt need to slip it while revving to 2000rpm. Blip the gas, be smooth on the clutch, and tip on the throttle... he'll be good to go.
He'll get used to it. Once he gets a perfect start once or twice, he'll get the feel and gain some confidence.
