Default 410 WoO Sprint Car on Dyno

As promised, I uploaded a video of Guy Forbrook's World of Outlaw 410 sprint car. I know it's not an ls engine, but hey, it's still wicked. I wish my computer had real speakers.

Enjoy

I'd like to tell you, but confidential. Don't need rumors to start flying.

I can tell you it is more than 500 and less than 1000

Just a question, did anybody watch the video with "good" speakers. I only have a laptop and somtimes it gets pretty muffled on the bass.

410" 12* Cylinder heads, nice solid roller, dry sump.

Definitely makes 8XX on an Engine dyno.

Awesome! My buddy runs a winged 410, we go to about 3-4 outlaw shows per year..can never hang with them. He has a Kriner 410 with -12 Chapman heads...made 790 HP on Gaerte's engine dyno. I know some of the big outlaw teams are past 900 HP on an engine dyno, so I am willing to bet that car was making at least 800 to the rears..no trans, not much driveline loss. Not to mention it weighs about 1200#.

A quick pic of my buddy's car:

850hp 1400lbs = bad bitch.

A normal f-body would have to have 2200hp for the same power to weight ratio.

Here's our old rig, I spent a lot of time at dirt tracks. This was just a 360" ASCS car though, only made about 650hp, but it would hit crazy MPH on DIRT and melt over 40" worth of rubber in just a few laps.

Here is our current hauler:

And a pic I took at an Outlaw show in Joliet, IL a few years back. 3 Gaerte motors being dropped to a team. That's about $120,000 sitting there.

410 Sprint racing is a blast to see, I live close to Williamsgrove and Lincoln and get to see about 10 to 15 races a year. I love to see the wheels up coming out of turn 3 at Lincoln.

Default woo dyno

Hey guys, how did you start the car on the dyno. I have never seen a sprint car with an ignition and they have to be push started. Please advise.

My buddys race with Todd Gracey in central Pa, are you bringing the 5 car into Pa this year?

Best of Luck

We are the manufacture of the starting system for the Dynojet chassis dyno. We start them up in gear on our dyno. I don't know if Guy is going to be out there this year or not.

Nice pics guys. Glad to see there are some dirty guys on here.

Yea I was gonna ask this too, I assumed the dyno was able to start the car. That is awesome.

How much do you guys charge to strap down a sprint car?

Where those 410's?

I would figure (Unless they are used, etc) that they could grab a little more for those Gaerte motors. Steve and gang are great guys to work with. I also know a few guys at Ed Pink's place.

Dirt tracking is a TON of fun!

Yes, they were 410s being dropped off at Daryn Pittman's hauler. You're right, if they were brand new (they sure look like it) they are around $44,000 each with all the goodies.

Here's another view :
