what radiator is best for 1000hp? i dont want to cut away at my radiator support unless absolutely necessary but was planning on tilting whatever radiator i may get upwards as much as i can. just need it to fit in the stock location and if possible find a way to reuse my stock cooling fans as i read they are very good for cooling.

A bunch of cars are making big power with the stock radiators. I upgraded mine to a BeCool aluminum radiator because I was having cooling issues.

only reason why im really curios is as i look into radiators they have horse power ratings so that brings up the concern of the factory unit supporting a ton more power than stock? im looking at 850RWHP pump gas and street driven. also it will be a turbo 427 motor...

A stock radiator will work if there is no AC.Of course tilting the radiator too much will screw up the cooling alot. I see no problem cutting the support though.

I use a Dewitts Rad. Works Great even with a huge intercooler mounted directly in front of it !

750hp here... Stock radiator in the stock location has been fine for over a year... Sees 17 psi on a regular basis and been in some traffic... Yes I have AC. This is Miami.

Bought the car with an upgraded one, I think it was the evans pump and rad. Basically a LT1 I was todl which is bigger and suppose to be better. I'd have to look I got the receipt somewhere.

well thanks for all the input...i guess ill try my stock one first. as for what Slowhawk said about screwing up the cooling by tilting it up is this only cause of how the airflows through it when its tilted up more? i do have plans for a large FMIC and ofcourse removing my AC as it doesnt even work anymore anyways...

What Slowhawk says is true... All the people that bitch about the stock radiator not cooling have, more often than not, tilted it, removed the airdam, or have a radiator facing upright with a FMIC blocking the front... Of course it will overheat or be taxed this way...

Same here bud ,Went with the BE COOL racing kit,Extra thick rad as compared to the street one .Also got the 2 high output fans with shroud and wireing kit, Like $1300 somthing from SUMMIT RACING. Took 2 days, drop shipped from BE COOL ,I'm touching it as we speak LOL !!!!

Two of the best are Ron Davis and Fluidyne....have had mixed results with the Be-Cool stuff. I really serious radiator will cost you $600 - $900
