average drivers are getting mid-low 13's, great drivers are getting high 12's. Depending on how well your car is prepped what tires your using, track temperatures, your driving ability...the factors go on and on, ultimately you gotto take it there to find out!

I have a modded '04 GTO A4. A stock '04 GTO A4 will run low 14s/high 13's on average. Heat soak and torque management are big reasons why people struggle to get out of the 14's in them. Just a tune wakes them up big time. I dropped a few tenths and gained a few mph just off a (custom) Predator Tune.

I'm pretty sure "nobody" with a stock 2004 a4 has broken into the 12's

New driver stock A4 04 will be high 13's - low 14s. ...you can count on that. Now as for the low 13 sec's that stock 04s have gotten to date ... there's a combination of reasons for those low stock times. These are really cold temperatures with a very negative DA, running at a track like ATCO (at about sea level), and major weight deduction (pulling out back and passenger seats + other typical things). That being said, under "normal" conditions at tracks across the country mid 13s would be a reasonable goal.

My brother's 100% stock (stock air filter / stock tires!) Plum Crazy Purple Goat ran 13.8 at Lapeer (MI) dragway all day long with the Traction control OFF (14.1 with it ON) in 60 degree air.

Theres no way a 2004 gto with an ls1 an auto can get mid to low 13's. I have an ls1 A4 camaro and its a mid 13 car with intake and exhaust, a heavier gto with more power will not beat that time. High 13's maybe a 13.6 with an auto ls1 gto is possible.

Times and minimal mods in signature. Maybe better this year as the times are traction limited and I am replacing the tires with some drag radials and cool spring air. Mid 13.5's are very doable and with essentially just a Diablo tune and air intake mods I am very happy. Yes I know I have a catback, it did NOTHING for performance. The best money I spent was the $167 shipped I paid for the DiabloSport on eBay and then the customized tune was free. Tweaked the tune with some help of the guys on LS1GTO.com and I have proved to myself on two separate occasions that the tune and accompanying better A4 shifting made a 4-6 mph and .4-.6 E.T. difference.
Our cars are tuned like crap from the factory, so spend the money like I did or if you don't want to do it yourself pay for a dynotune for probably even better increases. My A4 car is a different car with the tune.

carefull what you say
just cause you can't do it, dosn't mean someone else can't
you never know....
I've been told "theres no way..." :
- a stock gto clutch will hold 500hp (I've got 44K miles on mine, over 500rwhp/600rwtq)
- a M6 GTO will cut under 2.0 60' with stock tires (I cut 1.86 a few times)
- a M6 GTO will cut under 1.8x 60' with Radial tires (I cut a 1.55 60' and a bunch of 4.6' 60' times with mine on M/T DR's)
my gto is heavier and has more power,
I ran 13.2 bone stock
and my car is still heavier, and still has more power
and i run mid 11's

I was told when I bought mine that it wouldn't even get out of the 14's. Very first pass with a few hundred miles on the clock was a 13.6 and whittled that down to a 13.2. Then mods started and low 12's with a car that sounded completely stock that everybody thought I had a bottle hidden somewhere.
It can and has been done...
