Question how much hp gain...power steering delete???

how much hp do u gain by deleting the power steering??? it frees up drag on the motor by not having to turn the power steering pump/pulley

also how much hp is freed up by removing the a/c belt???

i may be wrong but i dont think you get a whole lot out of !ps and !ac, i think it's mainly for the decrease in nose weight. i'd like to know as well though.

Why would you take out the sway bar? And it's fine taking out the reingorcement, unless you crash. How much would you say you took out? Weight I mean. I can't see some of that making much of a difference. Did you relocate your battery?

i removed the front sway bar because it helps transfer weight to the back for racing. altogether, ive removed about 220lbs off of the car. i still have the battery under the hood but plan on relocating it to the trunk. what ive listed above in my previous posts is the things ive removed to lighten the front end

Do a search on what to change. I'm not sure what is involved but you can reroute the belt to bypass the Power steering pump. I think you have to buy a different lenght bent though. Try it out and see what you think for yourself. Or buy a new k member with a manual rack.

Its nice as far as cleaning up the engine bay - but I don't think its enough power gained to warrant having a hard time in an emergency maneuver (like at medium speeds).

eh.....i only notice the p/s delete at low speed turning or turning the wheels from a stop. at a stop, contact area on tires has friction with the road so its harder to turn. highway speeds feels just like having p/s because of less friction

I am interested in learning how to remove all of them as well as doing the pcv mods.

just a how to write up would be fantastic but a how to with pics would be ******* amazing. I am building up a street stip car and feel I have unuff uper body where power steering wont matter anyways. my ac is never used and I love cold weather so the heat will be coming out as well.

OR you can just get an EWP and before making a run at the track, take the belt off all together. A friend of mine with a C5 took two tenths off his ET in the 12s that way.

an electric water pump is on my list as well. with an electric water pump the belt would only need to strech from the crank to the alt correct? now would you be able to do that while using an underdrive pulley?

the pick of the shortbelt mod is a pic i found on the internet
yes u can run a really short belt from the crank to the alternator if u have an electric water pump

transamsam98, washer reservior comes off by removing the 4 push-in clips, unplug harness first

FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT DELETE
1. remove push-in clips along top of bumper cover inside hood
