Unless you're looking for a very very wobbly soft mount, those pictured are usually ****.

Really, you're worrying too much.

Just make it strong and it will be fine.

Mine certainly arent strong...just made from 2" stainless tube I had lying about and they've survived almost 10 years now.
I'm actually shocked at that lol

IMO, make them to give the most space for accessories or access.

Make them so fitting and removing the engine is as easy as possible.

Dont forget you'll need to lift the engine clear and also need wiggle room to get it on and off the bellhousing.
