4 Valve LS Cylinder Heads

Pretty darn cool. Expensive no doubt, if money wasn't an issue would you make the switch?

Being made by mercury racing, means those are the real deal. They have been tested, and will be available, unlike the vapor ware heads that have popped up here in the past.
did some reading:
http://mercuryracing.com/wp-content/...8_Final_LR.pdf
it says that the header mount flange is moved outward 21 mm (.82") and down 42mm (1.65") the flange is at the same angle as stock exhaust flange, and that off the shelf headers will bolt on.
Also has 25% more intake valve area, and 33% more exhaust valve area than 2 valve heads

I would buy them, that combo should take the LS engine well north of 100 hp per litter the easy way.
Will miss the single cam push rod sweet sound but making 130 hp per litter is a good trade off in in my book.
Means a 7.2 litter could make above 900 crank horse power N-A in street trim. I buy that.

Pretty cool stuff.
But from what that sayd...the exhaust port configuration is the same as stock, just in a different position ?
ie if you had a turbo setup built...it would need modified ?

a TT 4 valve LS would do it for me
I have an old LPE 390 LT5 making north of 600 and it's held together pretty good with over 70k hard miles on the build
cost will scare me I'm sure
but if they can make these numbers work, it's a great piece of engineering!

Very interesting. Can't wait to see the results after it's been through their torture, sorry durability testing. After all these guys build stuff to run at full power for hours on end in some of the hardest environments for a performance engine! Plus they are not a small company so they should be support there once you have paid for the units.
