Default Help choosing valve events

I'm hoping some of the resident experts could help me choose valve events. I'm trying to select a cam that way, rather than the more "traditional" way. I think if we work through the exercise on one pretty typical car, the methodology should be applicable to other combinations.

The parameters:
'02 Corvette LS-1, longtubes, hi-flow cats, CAI, otherwise stock. Pretty common case.
Stock, unopened shortblock.
Looking for peak torque around 4800, peak HP around 6300, shift at 6500.
Within that, idle quality is not important, and a broad power band is desired. Would also like to boost the low stock DCR if possible in the hopes of both better power and better mileage.

Comments from the experts as to what valve event timings might make sense? At .006, .050, .200, whatever you think is most appropriate.

It's not a stupid question; it's a very advanced and open question.

There aren't many here that can answer that sort of question, and those that
can are likely not going to divulge their methods.

Having said that, there a many off-the-shelf cams that will give you the
criteria you list. You are probably better off searching for members with
similar setups and asking which cam grind they are using.
