We installed a system,[PETERSON] on a Stage 2, v-sicks BUICK. [The engine is in a Cobra kit car. 500FWHP/2300#..The BBF Cobra guys never knew wtf happened to them.. Road course, or the dragstrip.]
2 pickup stages, 1 pressure stage. Most systems are available w/ vac stages. We didn't use 1.
The system added so much oil capacity to the engine, that we had to completely remove the cooler. The oil temp would not rise high enough, to allow us to run it hard.[we wanted 180*, got <150*]
The engine builder said he had set the wrist pin clearances a bit bigger, as the vacuum tended to pull so much oil off the walls, and undersides of the pistons, that we could see wrist pin galling.
One big benefit is, the oil pan can be much shorter. A ground clearance +, for a fast car!

I have used a few different pumps that worked well holding vac without air pump. Daily Eng pumps have worked the best for us. They last well even on street driven cars.

Moroso & Peterson are both good. My engine guy was just telling me about a Peterson dry sump & fuel pump combination. Haven't looked yet, but it sounds great.
