I saw a car in a mag several years ago, but I cant remember what one. The guy had done this, but I think it was just a track car. I would be nervous about doing this to my car as it sees more street than strip.

I have no solid proof of any gains.
On a dyno, the hp would be exactly the same, since 1) the hood is up, and 2) even it was down, there is no "ram air" affect, since you are stationary.
I did not get a chance to track test, so I have no numbers there either.
I can say however, that you can feel it slightly. Not so much from a dig, but from highway speeds it feels a little bit more lively.
Once again, no solid proof, but I do not see why it wouldn't help hp.

very easy
You dont have to cut anything out of your hood. All you have to do is drill out the rivits that hold the little scoops in. Once you drill those rivits out you have to give them a good pulling on to get them out. When i got mine out i went to Autozone and got some plastic push clips to fill in the rivit holes.
