Another install (cargo lamp), pics...
I took some time today and decided to install the GM cargo lamp that you would normally find in the convertible 4th gen's. It's surprising that GM did not install these units from the factory on all 4th gen's ? I've owned a bunch of 3rd gen cars (All GTA's and one convertible 92) and every one had a nice cargo lamp, for some strange reason GM only put these in convertibles. After finishing the install you would swear this thing came from the factory, installed. I actually pinned out the wiring harness so It would work just like the factory convertible. Unit powers up when you lift the rear-hatch or open a door. I used a super bright (3x1watt) 3 watt LED rigid loop super white. It looks fantastic in person.
You will need to cut an opening in the rear cargo material, but GM provide a rectangular opening in the metal brace just behind your cut. You will want to measure twice and cut once (like the old saying). I would recommend undercutting just a little to make it snug (you only get once chance).

Part number #03523031 (cargo lamp), wiring connector part #12125650 and you pinout the blue and white wire in the dome light (this is exactly what the convertible does) it's kind of like a parallel circuit. I used the service manuals for the convertible and coupe electrical diagrams. I just mirrored what they did for the convertible and it worked perfect the first time
PS: I just edited the part # for the wiring connector. Both of these parts cost a total of about $12 (doing my part to save GM $1 at a time)

I will try and post some additional installation pics and wiring info if you guys want me too ? It's really not that hard if you have some patience and a service manual; although, I did screw around with this project for about 3 hours trying to make it look OEM, doh

I added CCFLs to my trunk too and also tapped into the dome light for power, but still have a switch to turn them on/off because normal fluorescent ballasts don't like to be dimmed (they will be damaged).
