Default underbody pics

so i was just outside taking a few pics of the underside of my car because i was kind of curious to see how it looked under there (ive seen under it before but its hard to see when your lying on the ground, lol) i think its still pretty clean for having 123k miles and being 14 years old (real years not model years) Heres why i dont drive my car through the salt/snow other than a little bend in the frame rail from a jack (i'm assuming it was from a jack or lift or something, most probably have similar) i think my car is pretty clean under there, and yes that is stock exhaust too. For once, it's not covered in 5W30, lol

anyone else got underbody pics of their LT1/LS1?

i take mine to shows all the time, sure its not 100% perfect under there, but i think for being as old as it is it's pretty clean.. that comes from having never been through a real winter.

Damn snow. Mines trashed. I've got a few pockets of surface rust under mine. One of these summers I'm gonna POR15 the whole under carriage.

mine looks much worse than that. ive got 107000 miles. but my car gets driven in every type of wether New Jersey has. no choice really. I live near and work in Atlantic City, so im sure the salt air doesnt help either.

I think your car looks great on the underside for being 14 years old

Here some underbody on mine, but it has never seen rain, snow, etc.

LOL i can't say my car looks like that underneath, but for being stock under there it's still pretty good. and people wonder why now that i've moved north i keep the car in the garage all winter.... my last car, a 1993 thunderbird SC was a northern car and i remember looking under it in horror in early 2001 or so and seeing an 18 inch rust hole in one of the rockers

I had it at the body shop last spring to get the hood installed and painted and get the roof painted and there was an 01 WS6 there for osmething and the body shop said that my car had just as clean if not cleaner of an underbody than that 2001. it definately makes a difference where the car is driven. my car is originally a hawaii car, and then north carolina where it saw one dusting of snow, melted off by noon, and florida and AC, then i brought it back here in june 2007, so the only winter its been through up north it spent the whole time in the garage under a cover)

hell no, i dont do that ****, i just wanted to see how clean peoples underbody was and kind of brag about how my underbody is rust free being 14 years old.

Sgt. Spuds, where is that a pic of with the rust? looks kind of like the rocker panel under the ground effects???

you're from illinois right? luckily my car never saw any of the salt winters up here so i shouldn't have something like that

Here's mine at around 109k (at 111k right now). Haven't ever cleaned under there, but will be in the next month or so. Right now, the under-hood area is getting all the attention

And here she is up on her perch.

mine were taken with the car sitting on the ground in my garage.

does anyone know why the rocker panels have all those rough bubble looking things on them? is that part of the factory rustproofing or something?

How much do those in-garage style lifts go for anyway?

our lift was about 2k but we assembled it ourselves.

that thing was worth every penny after how much we used it with our 3 cars. it makes it easy to work on them, and in our "camaro garage" my dads is on the lift and my brothers is parked underneath it.
