write up i did on another site
ts pretty time consuming and can be aggravating. but its worth it
you will need:
-butter knife
-4 pack leds from parts store (advance auto) color of your choice i thought green would be awesome but doesnt go with car
-flat head screw driver
-pic and scribe tool
-clear atv silicone
-razor blade
-patience
first you remove the headlights from the car( i would do it one at a time)
take the four metal clips from around the light(pic and scibe tool)
place headlight on a pan and put head light in oven on 200 for 15-20 mins
take headlight out and pry apart slowly with a butter knife use screew driver when you get enough room to work with( start from bottom. heated plastic tends to chip)
once you get one of the sides pryed apart you can remove it with your hands
watch the gray silicone that holds it together as you pry it apart it will get string and get on the pretty chrome inside the light.(use the razor to cut the silicone as it streches when you pry it apart.)
NOTE: HALO HOLDING PLATE IS A SEPARATE PART LAYED INTO A STOCK HOUSING
once apart the black or chrome plate that holds the halo can be removed with ease its a separate part not attached to anything it just happens to lay perfectly in the housing
you may have to cut the wires to from the existing halos to remove the ring and leds from the chrome portion of the housing
the halo has two clips that hold it in the plate. the holes may have to be cut a little to remove the ring
the leds have a place in the ring that is molded to hold the bulb. but the leds have a sealent to hold them in
use the pic and scribe to pry the leds out. BECAREFUL THE RING WILL CRACK IF HANDLED TO ROUGH
place the new leds in the ring and seal with the clear silicone. let dry
place the ring in the plate
place the plate in the clear lens
place whole housing in the oven long enough to soften gray silicone
put back together WATCH THE WIRES FROME THE LEDS THESE ARE NOT SODERED TOGETHER LIKE THE PREVIOUS ONES SO THEY WILL REQUIRE A LITTLE GENTLENESS TO KEEP FROM DAMAGING
put in oven for a few moments to soften the silicone again and close together tightly
place metal clips back on light
silocone the crack at which the housing seperates
let dry
wire halos into lights ( i prefered the running lights since the halo is more visible without the fog or headlights on)
put headlight back in car
repeat one more time
