Default How many people with Automatics installed M6 consoles?

I remember seeing a couple of people did it and used the MBA shiftknob basically making it look like their automatic car was a M6.

I want to do it because I like the placement of the M6 ashtray and want to put one of dragon's switch plates in there (with my gauges in the console I just think it gets too cluttered/busy putting them in the A4 ashtray).

I am even considering having him make me a plate with PNROD21 that I will place somewhere (don't know where yet) that will light up as an indicator (I'll just use micro switches to activate it).

Anyways, just wondering if there were any fitment issues that I should be aware of...

Old thread but hopefully someone can help.. InsaneAuto86, I love the mod. I am trying to do the same thing to my 95 Formula 'Bird. Any issues? Will new center section from an M6 just snap into place where my A4 section is? Any input would definitely be welcomed.

So, are there any shifters that are pretty much a drop in. I like the video of that stang that was posted. I want one like that...not the rachet kind.

im still yet to do this, but its on my list... here is a thread i started a couple months ago. I think an M6 console in an automatic with a nice MBA know would look alot cleaner looking IMO.

Crap, no first gear with it? I like that B&M shifter, kinda confused as to how it works though. Would you have to modify the transmission at all?

Yeah that's what I heard too, so the shifter is practically pointless unless you'll be shifting. I heard it puts more pressure on the tranny lines. I'm not sure though

also if you notice when you drop it in third compared to OD it stays in gear longer, and when you shift it yourself it takes a little while longer to respond so its pretty much pointless when you can just put it in third

don't you need a manual valve body to take full advantage of manually shifting an auto car

I heard more pressure in the tranny lines was easier on your rear end to keep the rear end gears from hammering on each other between shifts. I guess like it keeps steadier pressure on it?

I want to put in some sort of shifter for my auto. I can't find any for the 4L60E tho...

I have a hurst pro-matic 2 in my M6 console. There is a pic of it for my avatar doesn't have the skull **** anymore. As far as four speed autos Hammer shifter, or Megashifter they make a short console model for like 91 camaros that you can use without too much work you have to install a plate accross the hole in the tunnel to mount the shifter to if you car is actually a M6 car. Let me know if you need some real up close install pics as I will be removing the top of my console to do some wiring for my nitrous setup this week maybe I can help you out.

What is done to that cat that you need to monitor cylinder head temp all by itself? Not a gauge you see in everyday street cars or even a strip car.

So you have an A4 and just put an AM shifter and M6 upper console? What brand and model shifter is that?
