Suggestions to upgrade headlights.

Suggestions to upgrade headlights.
Well one of my low beams burned out yesterday. Ive been wanting to upgrade them for a while because they absolutely suck, so i guess now is a good time. I want some HIDs but i would like to do it right and get projectors. Problem is, im a broke college kid so that might be out of the question. Does anyone sell bolt in projectors for firebirds? I dont really have the expirience to do it my self. Or is there any other way to upgrade my headlights?

Thats what i thought. Anything like PIAA or some other company thats a lil better than stock. Also thinking about trying HIDs in stock housings. Is that even possible with firebird headlights?
EDIT: I know theres downsides to that so im prolly not going to do that. Just an idea.

There are a lot of people that are going to bash on you for using HIDs in reflector housings. You might even get denied inspection depending where you live. With that being said I have them in mine and not only are they brighter than stock lights, they look 100x better too. When aimed correctly, they wont blind anyone anymore than regular lights would. Even my friends in lowered cars say they have no problem with them.
If you want to do go that route, you need to get the housings to replace your sealed beams, and the HID kits. Both are cheapest from nonsponsors, so do a little searching and youll figure out where to pick them up.
For the record I do plan to going the retrofitted projector route some day, but that gets pricey quick.
Your best bet for non HID options will prob be sylvania silverstars or something similar.

tasilver, you are correct about the silverstars. I just checked the site and it doesnt show anything to replace our bulbs. I thought that I had seen silver star sealed beams last time I was at the auto part store, but they must not have been for ours.
mybandit, you can pick up 880 HID bulbs for your stock fog lights. I have never used these, so I cant attest to how they fit/function, but they are an option on ebay HID kits. For the lows/highs, you need to buy a non sealed housing. Most of our replacement housings use H7 bulbs.
Hope this helps.

Bandit: I used an 880 bulb HID kit from ebay. They fit right in like stock, and just plug into the factory harness, completely plug and play.
As for the low beams I used http://www.eurolamps.com/ sealed beam conversion housings, and then bought H7 HID kit. You just have to wire the factory power/ground wires from the headlight harness into the HID kit, and everything else is plug and play.
My low beams are 12K I believe and my fogs are 8K

there probably are good bulbs out there that will improve a lot without going HID. i think piaa hiperbrights are what people used in my old car's forums, or something like that.
