they switched over to the newer interiors in 1997 for both the Camaro and Firebird. In 98 they came out with the redesigned exteriors and LsX engines...

i have a 98 console waiting for me at home to put in my 95 TA

It should work though. I heard it's just slightly off, like there's a small gap somewhere but I'll let you know next week when I get back from college

did you swap out the dash, and all that to the '01, or did you keep the 93 dash, instrument cluster, radio, etc as well...

It will fit perfectly fine. Only the 93-96 Camaros have the issue with the small gap between the console and the dash. Firebirds, they swap right over with no issues.

great, thanks guys...

im currently looking for a 6spd console in graphite (atleast it looks like graphite) to match the interior of the '95 TA i just bought. unless there is a way to just get the upper console part the part that is faded/worn (infront of the arm rest)...

she's my next project. the interior is pretty rough, not to mention dirty as hell. here's a pic...

Reviving an old thread.. Did you ever get the pics? I am doing the EXACT same thing. I have a 95 A4 center console that I yanked out and I am installing a 98 A4. I've heard of the gap issue between the carpet and console but since my car is currently gutted, I can just add some sound dampening material between my chassis and my new carpet..

sorry I never got a chance to put the console in. The car was buried under a ton of snow most of the time since I couldn't drive it. lol
