Why comment if you are going to be an ***? Please don't listen to this dip ****. Dont fill it with putty. The door skin is made from SMC. You can use fiberglass and special SMC resin to do it.
This should be in the auto body section BTW. Prob get more intelligent answers there...

Wow you win the award for douche bag of the year. Do NOT comment if you have no clue what the hell you are talking about. You could have offered information to someone who may actually trust that you know what your talking about. If this was the case, the glob of putty you just advised him to use, would fall right off the door. It wouldn't even last long enough for paint.
You need to fiberglass over that spot, not fill it with putty. It's a pain in the ***, and IMO not worth it.

I wasn't being serious, hopefully you caught that. They are right, it would reqiure a good bit of "fabrication". A good well built patch from the inside and also a little fiberglass work from the outside. The ultimate goal is to use as little putty as possible.
We've done several on steel doors as well, if done right they seem to last. I've never dealt with the longevity of a "fiberglass" door.
There was a thread on here, I think it was here... A long time ago where someone converted the 4th Gen F-body door handle to the Newer C6 style. Actually looked pretty nice.
I personally hate shaving door handles. Its alot of work, often doesn't really look better than a nice handle, and at some point you're going to wish you had a damn door handle.
Sorry if you actually believed what I said, I hoped you had done a little research of some kind or atleast have a clue of what you're doing before going at a task like this.
