Steve said it best ... "subtle is good"
My opinion is ... Other than a well designed cage, a nice shifter **** and maybe some nice white or silver gauge overlays, leave it alone. After the initial impact wears off, the more things you change in there, the more your going to wish you had just left it alone to begin with.
If you want to spend money on appearance mods, get a different set of wheels. If you ever get sick of your new wheels, you can alway simply put the factory ones back on (or something else). You start painting interior pieces, or making major appearance changes, it won't be so easy to get the car back to something that still resembles stock after you 'burn-out' on your 'creativity'!
Just my opinion ..

Re: Interior customizing
well I painted the a couple of the panels in on the dash, the one around the guages, around the shifter and cupholder, around the air cond. controls, and the two side vents, did 4 coats primer, 7 coats of an aluminum silver, and 4 coats clear, looks damn good, Ill try and get some pics if ya want..but everytime someone see's it, compliments across the board, it looks like it came stock, had to do some sanding before hand, and its an all day job, but well worth it

By the way.. if you REALLY want to do something to the interior to make it different here is a suggestion.. paint the interior pieces.. but do it in gloss black.. just a few as an accent.. the key here is moderation. When you do stuff to your car it should look like it COULD have come that way.. that the mods flow and dont look tacked on.. The only other color I would ever use besides gloss black would be gloss DARK charcoal grey metallic.. i havent seen this done yet but it would add a nice contrast to the all black interior. Oh, and if you want it done right have a paint shop shoot the parts in a nice two step process.

I wouldnt do too much to the interior but thats just me. I was looking for something different but stock looking at the same time.
I just had my friend who painted my car mix me some paint and sprayed my interior trim. I wanted a brushed aluminum look and it came out really nice. I wouldnt add anything too shiney cause everything is flat looking. Heres 2 pictures to give you an idea
