Default Any easy way to get the sound deadening material off?

Took the carpet out to remove the sound deadening material and boy, what a PITA!! Anyone know an easy way to get this stuff off? TIA.

Try WD-40 or some type of tar remover. That's what I did.

This trick worked for me on my old race car.

If you are talking about the thick tar like stuff:
Get a couple of big blocks of dry ice (this can be purchased from some grocery stores.)
Put the ice on the sound deadening and wait for it to freeze. Then wack it with a hammer and it will break off in big chunks!
