Question Headlight Polishing Kits ? Which one ?

Anyone have experience with those Headlight Polishing kits ??

I have a set of Headlights that I want to restore.

So far I been told to try the Novus Spa kit, I heard nothing but good things about it.

I just tried some Meguairs liquids to restore the Headlights along with a Power Ball but I dont really see much improvement.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks

I've always had good success wet sanding them lightly and then using a 3M rubbing compound on a buffer.

Yeah, wetsanding is the way to go. The Headlight Restoration kits even say something like "For some cases, wetsanding with 2000 grit will be necessary", and most of the time it is.

Then just polish them up.

I saw some pics of a set of lights done with the kit they sell at WalMart. Needless to say I was shocked at how good they turned out and it only cost $20.

i used wet sand (1000-2000 grit) then buffed with meguires plastx and they arent like new, but a whole lot better. Also buy some headlight sealant from a good body shop supply store or they will fade again.

I believe a sealant isn't necessary if you purchase the novus spa kit. One of the steps involves applying something to protect them from future fading. I've read of some people applying high temp clear to their headlights, but I'm sure better options are available.

I used the 3m kit from autozone, 20 bucks and did a good job cleaning them up.
