Default while the engine is out...

I decided to clean up the engine bay.

went to tractor supply and bought this


wow... i didn't realize how bad it was





getting there





shot a quick coat of primer and will be shooting it next weekend...



the color:
2008 suzuki M109R called CANDY MAX ORANGE
this is the color on a Cobra

little by little... my gasket kit showed up for the engine today... so i'll be working on it more and more as the night go by. my plan is this. in April my 401K loan from 2 years ago will be paid off so i can get another 401K loan. i am gonna take some jing and finish her up this spring... homefully the wife don't find out...

How did you keep the abrasive from getting all over? Does it make a huge mess?

i didn't... just used my shop vac to clean it all up... the seccond run was with baking soda... so I looked like casper the mechanic when i was done...

and i'll keep you updated

what kind of media did you use? I just ordered a sand blaster to get my 69 chevelle all stripped and have been wondering that..also why use baking soda second? Thanks

Black beauty for the sand... Baking soda is non abrasive and does not hurt plastic or glass... It also makes it very smooth
